What a big disappointment ..

All in all this hotel is a disappointment!!! The customer service is very POOR!!! They don't even know what that word means. The front desk people are sooooo UNWELCOMING!
FIRST ENCOUNTER: I arrived at the wee hours in the morning. And they gave me a a WRONG key for my room. So I had to go down to the front desk to ask and they even asked me if i have a ballpen coz they will just stick it into.
SECOND ENCOUNTER: I asked for an additional mattress [meaning bed] and they gave me a BLANKET. Hmmmm... I don't even know if these people here are trained to work in a hotel ..
THIRD ENCOUNTER: Their lobby is so very noisy. The people who work for them, especially their room service they are so NOISY when they pass the NARROW lobby.
FOURTH ENCOUNTER: They don't give you a towel for the second day. Nor a new soap. Their bathroom don't even have SHAMPOO!!!!
FIFTH ENCOUNTER: they have IPIS in the room. if you will ask me for the picture i will give it to you.
SIXTH ENCOUNTER: It's not nice frrm the management to just don't give you a key because you're over the 12noon check out time. We were like 5 minutes late and we just wanted to get our things, then the front desk said "I will just ask the room service to open the room".
And MIND YOU, the room service came after 10 mins!! And is it right to let the customer wait? NO WAY!!!!! Then the room service woman asked for our key when they didnt even gave us one. So she just opened the door and waited for us to get our things ... INHUMANE!!!!
SEVENTH ENCOUNTER: If I won't be asking for an OFFICIAL RECEIPT they will never give us one!!
All in all the stay in la rica hotel is not pleasant and it's not recommended to anyone.
One thing I noticed from the management is that they are not nice to people who people who look like they have no money. They are so rude and so unwelcome!!!

Overall
When we asked the front desk officer for something she kept on saying: "Just a moment, I will ask .."
I almost could not breath in the single room: It was so small, that I could not sleep.
Our room was located near the bar (the space in between of the windows): My God the corridor was so very narrow, so dark, the light was very dim, even if u would say that it was for the helloween preparation it would not fit because we had a seminar .. !! We still needed a well lighted environment ....
I just like the location, it's in the center of everything.
Please apply more lights ....
I will never miss LA RICA! It was the time that i really wanted to go home .. My room at home is much better than the room there .. !! Oh my god, what an old hotel !!!

Cheap and cheerful

The La Rica is nothing to look at. Its not in the best position in town and if you were to walk past it, you wouldnt notice it.
Executive Room La Rica Hotel in Tacloban City
Look out the window .. and see another window.
But, its clean, the staff are friendly and its cheap. 1250 php per night per room.

Food is fine, there is a bar on the top floor if you need one and you are central to everything in town ..
I would stay there again quite happily.
